At Gavin's six month check-up this past week, his doctor wanted us to encourage him to get to know his feet and become used to putting some weight on his legs. We also thought his daily play zones have become a bit too routine. Since the activity mat that we received as a gift has been very entertaining -- Gavin even discovered one of the toys was on a pull-cord we didn't know about -- we thought the new activity toy should be an upgrade of the mat. And by upgrade, I mean literally since he would need to stand in the new toy.As you can see, Gavin was clearly surprised when presented with his new play center. He took it like "white on rice," as my CYO basketball coach used to say when coaching us on defense. Gavin's favorite perch has always been on my shoulder where he can turn and look in any direction. The new play center allows him to do the same, just at ground level. And that seems just dandy to Gavin.
