Happy Belated Halloween!

Happy belated Halloween! While this was not Gavin's first Halloween based on the fact he was part of the world last October...it was his first Halloween based on his participation this time around. As you can see, he chose to be a bat. I say he chose, even though Mom picked out the costume, because he accepted the costume and wore it for a couple hours. The first time he tried it on a few weeks ago, he ripped the hood off.

You might wonder where mountain folks go to trick-or-treat. Our neighborhood is not convenient for a Halloween Night out especially for a toddler. We did hear about a kid's Halloween event down on Pearl Street in Boulder. So we scooped up our little bat and flew down to check it out.

It was a party indeed -- a couple hundred kids and parents swirled around the various stores where employees, dressed as witches and other Halloween characters, handed out candy. Although Gavin is walking, we carried him through the crowds and let him pick out a treat when he was so inclined.

Here are the candies that Gavin picked out himself. I have to say, he does have good taste. Of course, Gavin did not eat any of his candy. He just warmed up to buttered toast in the past few days. Sweets appear to be a future acquired taste.

We had a good time and I think we will take advantage of the Pearl Street Halloween in the future. Best of all, Gavin seemed to enjoy himself. He even allowed us to sneak into the county courthouse and vote while we were there.
